Here we attempt to "de-mystify" any confusion about motors, batteries, props, etc.  The Nemesis 3D-II is extremely versatile, being capable of flying successfully at different weights (wing loadings) and power levels.

As a general rule, your best bet will be to minimize weight for whatever power level you choose.  This can best be accomplished by using the lightest components, such as:

  1. SERVOS - should weigh 6 grams or less, each.
  2. MOTOR - 50 grams or less, including gearbox if used.
  3. RECEIVER - 9 grams or less.  "Micro Antenna" highly recommended.
  4. COVERING - Use "SoLite" which weighs only 0.6 ounce/sq yard.
  5. LANDING GEAR - If used, 8 grams including wheels.

Brushless Outrunners are the RAGE

All of our aerobatic parkflyers perform with incredible power on the low-cost, brushless, direct-drive CD-ROM motors we sell.  These little gems are so popular that we have discontinued the brushed motors and controllers we used to sell.  Our motors are wound by hand, using brand new Go-Brushless© CD-ROM parts.

    Brushless Outrunner Version

This one rocks!!  The Nippy 0808/98 motor provides versatile all-around performance on the Nemesis 3D-II.  Run it on either 450-2S (8-minutes) or 700-2S (18-minutes) lipolys and an APC 10x3.8 or 9x4.7 prop for excellent 3D aerobatics.  The 10x3.8 gives a tad better vertical, whereas the 9x4.7 provides more flight speed.  Both props will hover the airplane.

All brushless motors require a compatible brushless ESC.  We sell and highly recommend the versatile Phoenix-10 and Thunderbird-9 by Castle Creations.  While you're at it, be sure to snag the PHX-Link that enables you to program any current Castle brushless ESC from your home computer.  You can also download the latest software from Castle and upload it into your ESC with this device.

Brushless CD-ROM Outrunner Version

High power-to-weight ratio.  These motors represent a great value in the brushless arena.  We offer a leading brand.  The Westport-Design "Blue Thunder" is a 20-turn motor that flies our N3DII and SLICK with great authority.  Strong unlimited vertical on a GWS 9x5 HD prop and 2-cell lipoly, producing 10+ ounces of thrust while drawing 5.2 amps.  Hovers either plane at half-throttle.  Flight times up to 25 minutes of continuous aerobatics on 700-2S or 11 minutes on 450-2S.  Requires the 3mm prop saver accessory.  Use a #14 O-Ring to hold the prop on.

The Westport "Slo-Fly" 25-turn motor was specially developed for us.  This motor is optimized for turning large props in 3D applications, and that it does!  For greatest ease in hovering and high-thrust 3D, this motor is exceptional.  Experience unlimited vertical with scale-like speed.  Produces 10.3 ounces of thrust on a GWS 10x6 HD prop while drawing only 4.3 amps!  Flight times up to 25 minutes of continuous aerobatics are the norm here on 700-2S, or 13 minutes on 450-2S.  Requires the 3mm 3-way prop saver.
