Step-by-step Instructions for Installing
Carbon Wing & Fuselage Supports

  1. Clean areas to be glued on struts and spars with Scotch Brite or fine sandpaper.

  2. Drill a 1/16" dia hole in the center of each 1/64"x1/4"x3/8" plywood fuselage support.

  3. Align a strut to the LE wing spar and slide toward fuselage until it touches the fuselage near the bottom. Note that the struts are offset at the fuselage by the width of the ply fuse support.

  4. When satisfied with alignment, use strut to "drill" a hole through fuselage at proper angle.

  5. Slide a 1/64" ply support onto the strut. Push strut thru fuselage until it protrudes 1/16" on other side.

  6. Align other end of strut along LE spar so it's flush with top of wing.  Glue to LE spar with foam-safe CA and hold in place while CA cures.

  7. Place drop of foam-safe CA where strut enters fuselage and slide ply support against fuselage to glue it in place.

  8. Glue ply support onto other side of fuselage over the protruding strut.

  9. Repeat for other 3 struts.  Make sure that wing is not twisted when you glue struts to fuselage.

  10. Glue .060"x3" CF rod fuselage supports to under side of wing & fuselage as shown.  Center on wing TE.
