Aerobatic Twin Park Flyer
ARF
JINX is a proven mini-aerobat that will do
any maneuver in the book… and then some… at the flying field or
nearby park.
JINX is a perfect "first twin". If
you can fly an aileron trainer, you can fly JINX.
And... our
prewired motors accessory completely eliminates the mystique
of wiring your power system. Just plug it into your ESC!
JINX has been engineered for strength,
lightness, and great flying fun. The plane assembles very
quickly and can be flown on 4-channel radios using a
Y-harness for the aileron servos. With a 5-channel computer
radio, you can add control features like “flaperons” and “air
brakes” for even greater control authority.
The highly maneuverable JINX can be flown
on either 2-cell or 3-cell lipoly batteries. The 20T
Westport-Design brushless outrunner motors are highly
recommended for exceptional power, versatility, and value. Match
them up with GWS 8x4 HD props on a 2-cell lipoly, or GWS 7x3.5 HD props on
3-cell lipoly battery. Either way, a single Castle 9-10A
brushless ESC is all that’s required. Complete your power
system with a 1200-2S
or 800-3S lipoly battery and you’re good to go!

What Else Do I Need?
Sub-Micro Servos
(4)
Any 4 to 6 gram servos will work
well. Weight is important. Bluebird BMS-306 servos fit
elevator & aileron
cutouts precisely. A BMS-303 was initially used on rudder, but
we no longer recommend using this servo. Use four
BMS-306's for best results.
Servo Extensions
For 4-channel operation, use a
Y-harness for the
aileron servos. For 5-channels, use two
6" extensions to
enable flaperons and air-brake capability.
ESC
(Electronic Speed Control)
Castle Creations'
Phoenix-10
or new economical
Thunderbird-9 are just the ticket for
this bird. Any 9-amp unit designed for brushless motors
should work.
Motors
JINX was designed
specifically for the new breed of inexpensive
brushless
CD-ROM motors.
Exceptionally small and light-weight, these motors provide
plenty of power without using a gear box.

LiPoly
Battery & Charger
Lithium Polymer batteries should
be used to energize your JINX. The recommended
power system draws about 7-8 amps at full throttle, so battery
selection needs to accommodate this. Use the lightest
battery commensurate with stated current requirements. Our Etec 1250-2S or
700-3S lipolys are excellent here.
Finishing
Your JINX is pre-finished in a beautiful
award-winning color scheme. Nothing to do here but sit
back and admire! Here's how it comes out of the box: |
